Local 136 of the Laborers` International Union of North America (LIUNA) has worked tirelessly in representing its membership. As a member of the Connecticut Laborers` District Council, the Local works with LIUNA locals across Connecticut. The leadership of the Local looks forward to meeting the labor challenges of the future.
Membership in Local 136 is comprised exclusively of Town of Greenwich employees. Members of Local 136 operate and manage town departments and provide essential services from building inspections to financial management to education. Many of the Local`s members work for the Greenwich Board of Education.
Greenwich, Connecticut is a suburb of New York City with a population of over 50,000. It is an affluent community offering many benefits and services to its residents. Members come from a cross-section of town departments including the Board of Education, Public Works, Finance and the Nathaniel Witherell Hospital, the town`s own elder care facility.
